There are a number of prizes, those of a monetary nature are sent to the sponsored charity concerned. Those of a trophy nature are presented to the skipper or yacht crew as memento's of the event and vary year on year.


Individual Event. Total prize value £14,000

Trophies are awarded to the three highest ranking boats.   These trophies are gifted to the recipients.   Money for charity is awarded as part of the general prize money distribution within the fleet.   There are also at least two Special money prizes awarded on the night for exceptional performance or effort at the discretion of the Organising Team.   All boats automatically enter the Individual event.

In addition to money won as part of the Individual event the 3-Boat Team event has its own prize money distributed throughout the Teams.   There is also at least one Special monetary prize awarded on the night by the Organising Team as they think fit.   Trophies are awarded to each boat in the leading two teams (6 trophies).   Boats can NOT enter for both the 3-Boat Team event and the 3:4:1 Smeaton Trophy.  Where 3 boats (or multiples i.e 6, 9) enter for the same charity and do not declare themselves a team (nor part of the 3:4:1 Smeaton Trophy), the organising committee will place them together as a team, based on sponsorship raised.

This is a trophy awarded to boats which are entered by a bona fide trading business.   Each boat must have on board at least three members of the staff of the entering business and must sail for one charity.   There are two monetary prizes for the leading and second boats in this fleet, but all boats additionally receive their share of the Individual event prize money.   Boats must decide if they wish to enter for the 3:4:1 Smeaton Trophy or be part of the 3-Boat Team event, but they can NOT enter both.

This is awarded in memory of Eleanor Creeke, who endowed ECCS and without whose sponsorship of the Pursuit could not take place. It is a sum of £750 awarded by the organising team serendipitously on the day for whatever reason strikes them as being of unusual merit or in the best spirit of the Pursuit

A fine trophy and substantial monetary prize awarded to the yacht raising the most sponsorship for its entry.


Additional Prizes : £750

The Main Event has two additional prizes of £250 each awarded by the Organising Team plus a 3-Boat Team Event prize of £250.


The Shirley Lister Trophies

Two trophies for the youngest participating crew members under 18 -one boy and one girl attending the supper. Donated by the Chairman of ECCS in memory of his wife.


The All Female Crew Trophy

Trophy for The All Female Crew Trophy, proposed and supported by Plymouth Yacht Haven (First sailed 2019)

Allspars Trophy
